Ambience: Isolation Waltz by FreePD · Source · Licence

I asked you once, You looked away, As if my question Was not meant for that day. Days passed, Then weeks too, But every unfinished thought Still came back to you. I tried to read your face, Tried to understand your eyes, Was there some truth hidden? Or was I only making A home out of lies? Why did you leave me with a question? A “no” would have hurt, But pain has an end, Silence keeps walking beside you, Pretending to be a friend. I waited at the same place, With the same foolish hope, While you had already moved on. Now I know, Not every answer comes in words, Sometimes an empty road Says what the heart never heard. You never replied, Yet at last— I understood.
