After love

THE LAST MESSAGE

Where absence learns to speak.

Read the complete poem
The screen still holds your final line, A little word, a quiet sign. I read it once, then read once more, But nothing changed behind the door. The room was full, yet felt so bare, Your voice was missing from the air. The clock moved on, the night stood still, As if the world had lost its will. I searched our days for what went wrong, Which moment made the distance long. Was love too weak, or pride too strong? The heart kept asking all night long. The rain came down against the pane, And seemed to understand my pain. It washed the roofs, the roads, the sky, But could not wash your last goodbye. I carry no revenge or blame, The loss is real, the love the same. Some doors must close, though hearts protest, And time must teach the heart to rest.
